Sounds good, I'd say in general more confidence in the horn background stuff, though. I've had better solos, but that's how it goes. Retrospectively, I think I should have waited with the melody section after Dom's solo. The end was good.
The head sounds really nice and relaxed. Christian I like the space you leave in your second solo. Curran, I feel like you need more confidence in your soloing, dig in to your horn man! Tyler, your tone is great but try to play some complete ideas. The long notes are great but should be done in context (e.g. when your starting to smoke from soloing and need to cool off). This whole piece was really tight though for our first song.
I think we kind of came in a little sloppy but then the head was played very well. Around the 1 minute mark i messed up a few times. Christian at around the 2 minute point it sounded like you got a little lost as to where to go. Your spacing after that though was nice. Curran you need to play louder. I also agree with Dom to play more confidently. Tyler it sounded almost like you weren't playing in 3/4 at the beginning of your solo which is cool but it threw me off a bit. Also you do a lot of repeating of the same notes and rhythms try to do some more lines. Dom I really liked the space you were giving at the beginning of your solo. At 5:30 I should've picked up on what you were doing. I feel like the transition to the ending was kind of rough cause it was so sudden. After that though the ending was pretty solid. I also love Mrs. D's comment at the end. It makes the recording.
I definitely do need to play louder and thanks for the advice everyone. The drums get off a little and Tyler and I start playing too straight later on in the song instead of swinging into that background line with the drums. I think it sounds good but could be a lot better by just fixing up the little things.
